Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CodeForData at codefordata.in (the "Service"), operated by Suraj Anand, an individual based in India ("we", "us"). By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
CodeForData provides PySpark practice problems, an in-browser editor and an emulator that runs your code and checks it against test cases. The Service is currently free of charge.
The emulator imitates a subset of the PySpark DataFrame API inside your browser. It is not Apache Spark: results, supported functions, error messages and performance can differ from a real Spark cluster. The Service is an educational tool and does not guarantee any outcome in interviews, examinations or employment.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating one, you confirm that you are 18 or older and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law.
3. Your account
- You may sign up with an email address and password or with your Google account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@codefordata.in if you suspect unauthorised use.
- One person, one account. Accounts are personal and may not be sold or transferred.
- You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone else's rights, while using the Service;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our systems, or probe, scan or test their vulnerabilities, except through the responsible-disclosure process on our Contact page;
- disrupt or overload the Service, including through denial-of-service attacks, excessive automated requests or circumventing rate limits;
- scrape, copy, republish or redistribute the problems, test cases or official solutions in bulk, or use them to build a competing product or dataset;
- upload malicious code, or use the Service to harass others or to store unlawful content.
5. Content and intellectual property
- Our content. The problems, descriptions, test data, official solutions, the emulator, and the design of the site are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning.
- Your code. You keep ownership of the code you write. You give us a limited licence to store, copy and display it to you only as needed to operate the Service (for example, to sync your drafts across devices).
- Trademarks. Apache Spark and PySpark are trademarks of the Apache Software Foundation. CodeForData is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by the Apache Software Foundation.
6. Third-party services
If you use "Sign in with Google", Google's own terms and privacy policy also apply to that sign-in. We are not responsible for third-party services.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and accurate, but we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it (including problems and features) at any time. Where reasonable, we will give notice of significant changes. If we shut the Service down, we will give account holders reasonable notice and a way to request a copy of their data.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Where appropriate, we will tell you why. You may stop using the Service at any time.
9. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that the emulator's results will match Apache Spark.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, opportunity, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to INR 1,000. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Subject to that, the courts at New Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify account holders by email or on the site before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
